Captain Tanner Schwab: A Native's Passion for Outdoors, Hunting, and Guiding on the Nature Coast

Captain Tanner Schwab is a 3rd generation Taylor County Native, passionate about the outdoors and all things hunting, fishing, boating, and anything that involves the natural wonders of God’s creation. Tanner enjoys the present-day joys of Taylor County and surrounding areas but also has a heart and knowledge for the history and foundations that built what a lot of people refer to as “The Nature Coast.” Tanner is a husband and father to two children who he hopes to instill the same passions, history, and values for the great outdoors just as they were instilled into him.

Tanner's love for the outdoors started at a young age and has played a vital role in who he is as an adult. Spending countless hours in the woods or on the water, being a shadow to his parents and grandparents as a child and youth continuing into adulthood, and experiencing it for himself is just a glimpse into all the knowledge and passion Tanner holds for outdoor recreation. Tanner is an avid Wild Turkey and Alligator hunter, as these two topics hold the highest rank in his heart. However, Tanner also enjoys inshore fishing and the challenge that comes along with reeling in prize Redfish and Trout.

Tanner has 5 years of recreational Wild Alligator Hunting Experience and countless hours of Recreational Hunting and Fishing experience spanning from his early childhood to the present. Tanner holds his United States Coastguard Merchant Mariner License as well as a Certified Airboat Operation Certification and General Boater Safety and Operation Certificate. Tanner decided around 2 years ago his passion and desire for work was in the Outdoor Outfitting and Business and began to explore the possibilities, benefits, and joys this field has to offer. With much thought, prayer, time, and hard work, he has made this dream a reality and looks forward to sharing what it has to offer with all who are interested in learning and experiencing the joys and wonders the great outdoors has to offer.
